Abstract

Wind power curtailment prevails dramatically in winter in the Three-north Area of China, as a result of the constrained peaking capability of thermal power units and severe contradiction between power supply and demand. An optimized control method was proposed to improve the wind power consumption with regenerative electric boiler and energy storage system. The system is used for heating to increase the electric to heat load of power grid and to promote local wind power consumption. The coordinated optimized control method was discussed for the properties of regenerative electric boiler and the electrochemical energy storage device in the non-direct power supply mode of the wind farm. Considering different contracts between the wind farm company, the power grid enterprise and the heat supply company, the optimized control strategies were proposed to obtain the maximum operation profit of wind farm and regenerative electric boiler. The simulation results show the effectiveness of the proposed method.
