Influence of Load Rate on Transient Stability of Isolated Island Microgrid
The users of isolated island microgrid are mostly tourism and industry, etc, these loads are very seasonal and time-sensitive so that it is easy to have different levels of loads, which has a direct effect on the transient stability of system, the influence of load rate on the transient stability of isolated island microgrid is studied for this. By changing the load rate of an isolated island microgrid, we form five load levels which are heavy light load, mild light load, moderate load, mild heavy load, heavy heavy load, and analyze a series of transient stability simulation for these five scenes in order to study how load rate influences the transient stability, including generator tripping, sudden increase of load, and sudden decrease of load. The results show that the higher the load rate, the better the transient stability when a single generator is cut and the excess capacity is enough; when the load step percentage is the same, the higher the load rate, the worse the transient stability; when the load step percentage is different, the transient stability is determined by the combination of load rate and load step percentage.
