Abstract

Supercritical carbon dioxide (sCO2) closed cycle is suitable for coal-fired distributed power generation. It can adopt shunting-recompression cycle, but it still has some shortcomings for the improvement of efficiency. A combined cycle of sCO2 closed cycle and air closed cycle is proposed. The top cycle of the combined cycle adopts an efficient air closed cycle. The efficiency of sCO2 and air combined cycle and shunting-recompression sCO2 closed cycle was analyzed and compared. The results show that the efficiency of the sCO2 and air combined cycle can significantly exceed that of the shunting-recompression sCO2 closed cycle, and its efficiency for distributed generation can reach the level of large-scale ultra-supercritical coal-fired power plant.
