Founded on December 29, 2002, China Datang Corporation is a state-owned super-large energy enterprise directly managed by the Central Committee of the CPC. With a registered capital of RMB 37 billion, the company's core businesses cover power, coal & coal chemical, finance, environmental protection, trade & logistics, and emerging industries. Established in December 2013, the China Datang Corporation Science and Technology General Research Institute Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as the "Sci-Tech General Institute") has, after more than a decade of leapfrog development, comprehensively established a Group technology system covering all service regions and professional functions. It serves as the lead unit of the Group's "Three Institutes and Three Companies" scientific and technological innovation system.
The Sci-Tech General Institute currently has 1,125 formal employees with an average age of 36.4. Employees with a master's degree or above account for 68.17%, and those with intermediate or higher professional technical qualifications account for 73.1%. 2. Tsinghua University Press Co., Ltd.
Founded in June 1980, Tsinghua University Press is a comprehensive university press sponsored by Tsinghua University and supervised by the Ministry of Education. It transformed from a state-owned enterprise into a limited liability company in April 2009 and established the Tsinghua University Press Group in October 2014.
As a leading domestic education and professional publishing institution, the press has successively won honors such as "Advanced University Press," "National Excellent Publishing House," "National Top 100 Book Publishing Unit," "China Copyright Most Influential Enterprise," and "National Advanced Collective for Textbook Construction" at the First National Textbook Construction Award. It won the "Advanced Publishing Unit" award at the 1st (2007) and 4th (2017) China Publishing Government Awards. A large number of books and journals published by the press have won national awards such as the China Publishing Government Award, the Chinese Excellent Publication Award, National Excellent Textbooks, and "China Good Books."
Currently, the press publishes nearly 3,000 titles annually, including books, audio-visual products, and electronic publications. Its sales scale, comprehensive strength, and market share in the higher education textbook market, science and technology book market, and library acquisition market rank among the top in the industry.
The press currently has eight branches: "Science and Engineering," "Computer and Information," "Economics, Management, and Humanities & Social Sciences," "Foreign Languages," "Life Sciences and Medicine," "Vocational Education," "Basic Education," and "Audio-Video, Electronics, and Digital Publishing." It also has three centers for Academic Publishing, Journals, and Theme Publishing, and oversees seven subsidiaries. It has established a complete management system and a group structure, achieving an integrated publishing pattern combining books, journals, audio-visual products, electronic publications, and the internet.
In March 2011, the press established the Journal Center, accelerating the group and international development of academic journals. The press currently publishes 60 journals, including 20 English science journals indexed by SCI or ESCI and 6 Chinese social science journals indexed by CSSCI and its extended editions. 35 projects have been selected into the "China Science and Technology Journal Excellence Action Plan." In June 2022, SciOpen, an international digital publishing platform for scientific journals with independent intellectual property rights independently developed by the press, was officially launched.
